Editing Contours and Isolines
The Create contours dialogue box
is automatically displayed after the Gridding operation is completed
for Simple Contours, Color Fill Contours,
and Color Relief maps. You may choose the default option,
customize a new contouring interval and/or number of contours, or
use the previous maps contour levels.
The Edit | Contours dialog box, which
is also accessible by right clicking on the Contour
label or sublabels in the Map Tree and selecting Format...
allows you to change the value of a contour, insert a contour
between existing contours, and view a particular contour.
The View contour dialogue box accessible by clicking the View
button in the Contours dialogue box allows you to change the
appearance (line thickness, color, and labeling) of the particular
contour. Click on the All contours button within the View Contours
dialogue to change the appearance of all the contours at once.
By right clicking the Contours label in the Map Tree
and selecting Copy contours to drawings, You can copy all the
contours to the Drawings group on the Map
Tree. You can download one, some or all of these contour lines
by then right clicking on Drawings or the particlular
line and selecting Save to File to save the polylines to an
ASCII, ArcInfo .Gen, or DXF file. To copy ALL contours, right-click
the Contours tree item and then choose the Copy
to Drawings command from the context menu. To
copy only one contour or one contour at a time, right-click the contour's
name. |
